Our believe

We believe education should do more than prepare learners for exams—it should prepare them to understand themselves, contribute to their communities, and shape a better future.

Our Curriculum Framework

International Baccalaureate (IB)*

Early Years to Middle School

The International Baccalaureate places learners at the centre of the learning process. Through inquiry, reflection, and meaningful action, learners develop a deep understanding of themselves and the world around them while building the skills needed to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Cambridge Advanced

High School

In High School, learners follow the Cambridge International IGCSE and AS/ A Level pathway. Renowned for its academic rigour and global recognition, Cambridge prepares learners for admission to leading universities in Portugal and around the world while allowing them to pursue their individual strengths and aspirations.

What is the International Baccalaureate?

The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a globally recognised educational framework that places learners at the centre of the learning process. Rather than viewing education as the transmission of knowledge, the IB nurtures curiosity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning.

Through inquiry, reflection, and meaningful action, learners are encouraged to explore real-world issues, make connections across disciplines, and develop a deep understanding of themselves and the world around them. Along the way, they build the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

  • Rather than focusing primarily on memorisation, the IB encourages learners to ask questions, think critically, make connections across subjects, and apply their learning to real-world situations. Learners are active participants in their educational journey.

  • After completing the IB framework in Middle School, learners transition to the Cambridge Advanced pathway, studying Cambridge International IGCSE and AS/ A Levels in High School. This combination provides a strong foundation in inquiry and critical thinking, alongside rigorous academic preparation for leading universities worldwide.

  • By combining the IB framework, Cambridge Advanced qualifications, and a strong focus on character, leadership, communication, and problem-solving, LIS prepares learners to thrive at university, in their careers, and as responsible contributors to an increasingly interconnected world.

  • The International Baccalaureate prepares learners not only for academic success, but also for life in an increasingly interconnected world. Through inquiry, reflection, and real-world learning, learners develop the knowledge, skills, and character needed to navigate complexity, embrace diverse perspectives, and make a meaningful contribution to their communities.
